Shawn + Brittany Engagement Session - Virginia Beach Photographer

Wayyy back in January, which feels like ages ago.. I did a bridal show called Uniquely Yours Bridal Showcase and we did a raffle for brides to enter their name and email in hopes to win a free engagement session with Radiant…
Well… drum roll please…. Brittany + Shawn were one of the 3 winners! When it came time for me to call and break the exciting news to them, I was SUPER nervous! I didn’t want her to think it was a scam, or some way to get them to buy photos, or anything at all. It was truly a FREE engagement session, they get the to keep all of the photos, and brag to their friends and family as much as they want. Once I finished stumbling through my written statement… yes I wrote it down.. she finally got it and was excited (as I hoped!) and we went back and forth with emails to schedule an official date for the shoot!

Brittany mentioned something about how much she loved animals and wanted to incorporate them in a non-weird way. I then suggested some ways.. maybe they were weird.. maybe they weren’t.. and we finally settled on the Norfolk Zoo. Now.. I was more excited than they were because I had never been to the Norfolk Zoo.. So when we met there, it was fate that brought us together because neither one of us had each other’s phone numbers (we were just going by email!) So I saw this couple parked next to me who looked nicely dressed.. about the age I would assume a newly engaged couple would be.. and I just flat out said “Hi! Are you Brittany?” and sure enough it was them! We pretty much had the zoo all to ourselves. It was a beautiful, yet chilly, day and I am so happy I met them (:
